I will be bringing my illustrated children’s books. I have several books with spring themes including my latest Dani to the Rescue.

I also have several titles which feature relationships between a mother and her children.
Buffy’s Big Cat is a story about a mother cat giving Buffy her kitten space to make friends.

And as a special treat I will be bringing colouring sheets. Children can colour them and add their personal notes of appreciation for their mothers.

New Show, March 5, 613Flea

My second show of the season will be on March 5 at 613Flea, Aberdeen Pavilion. As part of the show I will be doing part two of how to create an illustration. Last week was step one, preparing a sketch from photo. I am using a photo of a Red Tail Hawk that I took last summer. I have transferred sketch to canvas. This week I will be demonstrating colour blocking using watercolours. I use watercolours to create the first layer in my illustrations. Come see how a photo is brought to life.
